1. Create a new project to make your composition
2. Load a family with an element that you created previously to start creating your composition
3. Compose your extrusions together the way you like it
4. New family - Metric curtain wall panel
5. Create a constraint extrusion
6. Apply a lenght parameter for one of the side of your extrusion for me it was the height and make it a SHARED parameter of INSTANCE to be able to play with variation later in your project
7. Import a new family that is face place that you already created, meaning that your new beam will always connect with your vertical element you just made
8. Constrain it wherever you want if you want it to be fixed, me i wanted it to be linked to the top of my element so i linked it to the top of my vertical extrusion
9. I choose than to be able to make the horizontal beam to be able to be visible or not so i created a new shared paramater of yes/no data type and instance
10. Save and load into composition project
11. Create how many walls you want
12. Then click on it and select curtain wall empty in the properties panel
13. Edit type
14. Select the curtain panel family you created in the list menu
15. Creat a vertical grid by multiplying your element at a fixed distance and choose de spacing
16. Modifiy how you like the height of your wall
17. Create a new schedule with lenght and show parameter to be able to modify the height of your vertical elements and the visibility of your horizontal elements
18. Create a new camera, choose a view that you like and export

Hi Olivia,

I waited to send you feedback, to best analyse the feeling your work was providing.

I guess the issue I feel is related to the fact that the components (base and vertical parts) still belong to different "worlds", they are not really connected, and so their variation, being independent, does not concur to a consistent unity of the composition.

In other words, the components you imagined could work but you have to adjsut their relationship.
Example: having the vertical ones be attached separately to the quadratic bases, and not being a whole screen, and/or reducing the type of the vertical screens to a variation of just one (the I shaped or the L shaped).

Hope it is clear, we can also discuss it more on Friday.
Thanks,
SC
