PROJECT - VEGETAZIONE

Our project is based on the new idea of creating a new, multifunctional space in the northwest area of the university with the desire to endow the outdoor spaces of the Matadero and create a community and pleasant place for students and teachers.

This area consists of two components with different functions.

The first one is located on the wall that delimits the Matadero, creating shelves with different modules combined with boxes from recycled markets and supermarkets. These are easy to find as the Testaccio market is located next to the university. With this outdoor shelving, the idea was to create places for planting and displaying (e.g. different fruits, vegetables, flowers, aromatic plants, etc.).  

The second component is based on the idea of providing seating and perches for people to rest and socialize in three different compositions. These incorporate box modules that serve as individual seating. In this way, the space created is habitable in different ways, it can be used as a seat or as a table. 

This composition is created by means of rectangular pieces of recycled cardboard that are connected to each other. The connection is joined by equal cuts. Thirteen different pieces have been created, with the same width and length, but different heights. In addition, each of the pieces contains a different number of cuts.

Considering that the project consists of many pieces, the idea of the construction of the pieces is also designed to be partial, depending on the number of people who are going to make use of it.
